femi on Wednesday attempted to take his own
life following his poor performance in one o f the courses required to graduate from the institution.
The student popularly known as Zamane had once contested the post of Sport Director at the Student Union level and he was also a member of the SUG Committee.
Oluwafemi who just graduated but still waiting for results so as to start processes for clearance was shocked after seeing the released results in which he discovered that he was scored below pass mark.
One of the corses that led to his depression was the result for BUS 418 in which most students were either having a D or F.
He was said to have taken some poisonous substances and thereafter cut his own vein.
However, before the suicide attempt, Oluwafemi made series of WhatsApp post’s hinting on a suicide attempt due to how life and education have been rough for him.
Some of his friends who saw the posts earlier rushed to his room where he was found lying helplessly.
He was quickly rushed to the Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital Ado Ekiti where he is currently receiving treatment.
Speaking will Roundoffnews, some of the students lamented the high rate of witch hunt and mass failure of students by lecturers of the institution.
Imagine a situation where 80% of students score below forty in a course a student said.
According to them, most of the lecturers deliberately fail students so as to be bribed.
The management of the institution is yet to react to the issue.
